Discover the Aplec de la Sardana in Calella
Five days of tradition and culture with the Aplec de la Sardana in Calella
From 3 to 7 June 2026, Calella becomes the capital of the sardana with the 98th edition of the Aplec de la Sardana, also known as l’Aplec Pairal de Catalunya.
This event pays tribute to the sardana, Catalonia’s most iconic dance, which is performed in a circle with hands joined, to the rhythm set by a cobla, and which symbolises cohesion and equality among those who dance it. It also celebrates the city’s open, cheerful and welcoming character. With over 90 years of history, this aplec is the oldest of them all and one of the most eagerly awaited events on the Catalan cultural calendar.
The Sardanista Spirit of Calella
Organised by the Agrupació Sardanista de Calella, the Aplec is an event that brings the whole town to life. For four days, a festive atmosphere takes over venues such as Parc Dalmau, Passeig Manuel Puigvert and Plaça de l’Ajuntament, where Sardanistas from all over Catalonia gather.
