Halloween 2024

Spend Halloween night with us

Find out how we celebrate the most terrifying night of the year at Hotel Bernat II and the planning of activities in Calella.

Halloween is the most iconic October holiday. Thousands of people all over the world celebrate this festivity and take advantage of the night to dress up in costumes, ask for sweets or tell scary stories. In Catalonia, however, despite celebrating Halloween, we also have a celebration of our own: the castanyada.

The castanyada is, in its essence, the chestnut festival. You can find people selling boiled chestnuts, sweet potatoes and panellets (catalan pastry) in the streets of every Catalan town and city. So if you are interested in experiencing these two celebrations in Calella, you can do it with us by booking your room here:

Halloween activities at Hotel Bernat II:

At Hotel Bernat II we also want to celebrate Halloween. So we have prepared a series of themed activities for you to enjoy this holiday: a magic show, a face-painting workshop so that the little ones can dress up, two private excursions from the hotel during the All Saints’ weekend so that you can take advantage and visit the city… Discover this and everything else our hotel has to offer these days here:

Halloween activities and the Castanyada in Calella:

In Calella, on 31 October, activities will be held to celebrate Halloween and the Chestnut Festival. At 17:30h, in the Plaza de la Iglesia, there will be a popular chestnut festival, with shows for children and where you can buy chestnuts and other typical products or food of the season. At the same time, for the little ones, the organisation of Calella’s shops will prepare a trick or treat activity, where children will be able to dress up and ask for sweets in several local shops.

General activities during the month of October:

If you are interested in knowing everything that will be done in Calella during the month of October you can check here our monthly agenda. At the beginning of each month you will find on our website the entire planning of activities offered by our city. We leave you here the most important ones:
