The Maresme Coast has a large number of tourist attractions, but there is no doubt that the most important are its spacious beaches and beautiful coves.

Three beaches are the ones that make up the profile of Calella, each with different features and attractions for all types of bathers and visitors.

Once again this year they have received the Biosphere Sustainable distinction, the seal in recognition of good environmental practices within the framework of the objectives against climate change.

As well as the Safe Tourism Certified seal. All of them have free wifi access.

And as a novelty this year, smoking is prohibited in any of them, except for the beach clubs as a permitted area.

Les Roques Beach

750m long and 25m wide

It is the closest to the lighthouse and the Torretas. Surrounded by pine trees and rocks, with crystal clear water, it is one of the most beautiful beaches in the area. It has four coves: Rocapins, la Viñeta, la Roca Grossa and Cala d’en Pere, the latter being a nudist beach. There are also showers and a boulder climbing wall for the most daring.

Garbí Beach

814 m long and 72 m wide

A few metres from the Hotel Bernat II and where our beach restaurant Bahari Club is located, you will find this beach, which has been awarded every year with the ‘Q’ for tourist quality by the ICTE and with the Blue Flag of the Beaches of Europe, which guarantee the cleanliness of its waters and services for everyone.

A beach for everyone with children’s activities, disabled access, beach football, beach volleyball and basketball areas, and a floating park for the little ones.

It also has security and surveillance services provided by the Local Police and the Cruz Roja.

The Big Beach

1,500 m long and 72 m wide

Located in the heart of the city, and parallel to the Manuel Puigvert promenade, it is perfect to go with the family, with friends or as a couple, being the most dynamic beach with a wide range of activities during the summer.

It has special amphibious chairs, areas for beach sports such as football, volleyball or basketball, showers and security and surveillance services provided by the Local Police and the Cruz Roja.

It will be difficult not to visit them all, but if you still haven’t decided which one is your favourite, we give you all the detailed information HERE.

Finally, we leave you a small trailer of what could be the summer of your dreams in Calella, recorded in Playa de las Rocas

flower-moments-calella

Do you know Flower Moments in Calella?

This weekend Calella celebrated the long-awaited Moments of Flowers, a recent tradition in our town that has already been taking place for several editions, filling the streets with colour, filling them with aromas and creating beautiful contrasts.

These are two very special days, since although during the rest of the year we can escape among the trees of Dalmau Park or be enraptured in Bruguera street with the flower gardens between buildings, during these two days we can also enjoy the balconies, terraces and gardens decorated by the neighbours who join the initiative.

On this occasion we have 48 hours to visit all the most emblematic corners, both public and private, which have been decorated for the occasion, and which exceptionally open their doors so that visitors can also enjoy these works of art, some temporary and some lasting.

With the help of gardeners, Calella’s florists and landscapers, more than 18 spaces in Calella are adorned with floral motifs. These are the spaces that have been visited in this year’s edition:

– Museum of Tourism

– Pia School

– Sant Quirze and Santa Julita Chapel

– Can Prat

– Courtyard and stairs of the Can Salvador de la Plaça Library

– Can Marrè

– Balconies of Can Saleta

– Balcony of the Old Town Hall

– Balcony of the Town Hall

– Church Square

– Balconies of Can Campaneria and Can Nualart

– Balcony of Can Basart

– Josep M. Codina i Bagué Municipal Archive Museum

– Lighthouse of Calella

– Can Borràs

– Dalmau Park and Muntanyeta area.

The Association of Traders of Calella also participates in this unique celebration by dressing up the shops with different flowers, decorations and colours.

If you enjoy celebrating important days with bouquets of flowers, if you take care of your plants as one of your most precious assets, or if you wait all year long for the ephemeral spring, you can’t miss these two days in Calella!

We leave you with a small tasting of what we have experienced this weekend.
