Calella in winter is the perfect destination for those seeking tranquillity, sea and nature without the crowds. The town invites you to stroll around, discover its heritage and enjoy a relaxing getaway by the Mediterranean. Just 50 km from Girona and Barcelona.
In this post, we give you ideas for spending a weekend in Calella.

Whether you go up to Calella Lighthouse by car or on foot, the views are breathtaking and it is well worth a visit at any time of year. It is usually the most photographed area in Calella.

Enjoy the local cuisine of Maresme
The cuisine of Maresme is renowned for its fresh fish, Alella D.O. wines and garden produce such as peas and strawberries.
In winter, we recommend surf and turf dishes such as peas with cuttlefish. It is the ideal time to eat well without having to make reservations and try the ‘off-menu’ or ‘dishes of the day’ options.
In Calella, although winter is the low season, cultural events and popular activities are scheduled throughout the year. Check the monthly calendar and experience the city like a local.
