Discover the Museums You Can Find in Calella:
Museu Arxiu de Calella Josep Maria Codina i Bagué
Better known as the Calella Museum-Archive, it is located at C/ Escoles Pies, 36, in the former Can March, a noble house dating back to the 17th century that once served as the home of the city council, a prison for Calella, and finally transformed into what it is today—a municipal museum that preserves the historical archive. It also houses a permanent exhibition tracing the history of the town through archaeology, ceramics, textile machinery, crafts, domestic life, clothing, and more. However, the most fascinating feature is undoubtedly the recreation of the structure of a modernist pharmacy from the town. Stepping inside transports you to 1919, surrounded by apothecary containers, scales, and pill boxes.
Tourism Museum
The newest museum on the list, located in the former Llobet-Guri Factory. At the intersection of C/ Sant Pere, you’ll find the Museum of Tourism, a hybrid between a modern space with technological and contemporary installations and the chronological narrative of the cultural heritage of tourism.
The guided tour offers a fictitious world tour, capturing the history of early travel up to the present day of the tourism sector.
